Review: Tom Cruise’s love for Germany not convincing in ‘Valkyrie’ It is a story of a world gone painfully invisible, it showcases this unknown point in the near future, where in a city people begin to go blind in a flash of white light that never goes away. A vision doctor (Mark Ruffalo) and his wife (Julianne Moore) are the only people unaffected by the epidemic but people all around them are its victims. Soon the blinds start being interned in empty hospitals and the doctor’s wife pretends to be blind so that they can stay together. The hospital turns into a vision of hell with the strong ruling the weak and food and women being used as bargaining chips. It all builds to a fantastic climax towards the end. Directed by Fernando Meireilles, ‘Blindness’ goes to great lengths to emphasise the philosophical and spiritual implications of the supposed white blindness. Based on one of Jose Saramago’s novels, this movie shows a frightening vision of the future and of humanity itself.Full Story: Review: `Blindness` is hugely dark and chilling horror!
