NEW DELHI: Producer-actor Shah Rukh Khan's Ra .One failed to light up the charts on its release on Diwali, but analysts said brighter days were ahead for Bollywood's most expensive movie.
Despite a promotional blitzkrieg by Khan, the sci-fi magnum opus collected 18.5 crore on the box-office on Wednesday, 3 crore less than what Bodyguard managed on Day One.
Ra.One was released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions in over 3,100 theatres, while Bodyguard was released only in Hindi across 2,750 theatres two months ago. Ra.One earned about 15-16 crore from the Hindi version, while the Tamil and Telugu versions added another 2 crore-2.5 crore, trade analyst Komal Nahata said.
