While some claimed it was a very shrewd marketing strategy, others saw it as the ultimate cinematic collaboration between Kollywood and Bollywood. From Kollywood technicians being sought-after by the Hindi film industry, today it's Tamil movie scripts, actors, directors, music directors and more. The lines have started to blur between the two industries and there's an overwhelming interest in both spheres to collaborate in the entertainment business.

Shah Rukh, who has acted with Kamal Haasan, Ajith and now Rajinikanth, is today open to doing a Tamil film. He says, "To me, one of the nicest things is that I am considered by filmmakers like Mani Ratnam , Shankar and Murugadoss. I would love to do a Tamil film." Like him, many others like Sonu Sood, Rahul Bose and a host of top Bollywood actresses, are working and eager to work in Tamil films. In fact, director A R Murugadoss, whose Ghajini remake in Hindi was a big moneyspinner, is set to do a movie with the King Khan in 2012, post his films with Suriya and Vijay.
