Bollywood pashas! The Mumbai police force held its annual entertainment show late this year to mark the loss of its officers during 26/11 and in keeping with the somber note the first anniversary of the event had injected into the city. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came with dad-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and the two chatted with Mumbai police commissioner D Sivanandan.
Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar stuck together, both offstage as well as onstage where they enacted a little skit. Priyanka and Uday Chopra, dressed in the most colourful of clothes, performed to a promotional song from one of their upcoming films. Other performers for the evening included Asin, Govinda, Divya Dutta and Rohit Roy among others. A dance performance by the energetic Shahid Kapoor turned out to be quite the highlight of the evening with its youthful energy and fizz. Anushka Manchanda’s vocal performance was also very well received. By the time the five-hour programme got over dozens of really hi-profile actors had performed and there was a palpable buzz in the air. Sajjid and Laveena Mitha celebrated their wedding anniversary at a restaurant in Colaba and friends joined in the fun.
