Bollywood at Qutub, Sufiana at Red Fort - Times of India

NEW DELHI: With the iconic Qutub Minar in the backdrop , Bollywood singers are set to entertain Delhiites with some feet tapping music . Starting Friday, singers like Sonu Nigam , Sunidhi Chauhan , Sukhwinder Singh, KK, and Shreya Ghosal will be performing at the world heritage site for the Qutub Festival 2011.

The five day festival-organized by the Department of Art, Culture and Languages, Govt of Delhi and Punjabi Academy- plans to celebrate the composite culture of the city. "We want to continue the legacy of Delhi and showcase its culture which is so composite and rich," said Rawail Singh, secretary at Punjabi Academy.

The festival has long been associated with Sufi. "Due to large availability of space this year, we have decided to hold the festival for contemporary music in the Qutub complex and the venue for Sufi music has been shifted to Lal Qila," said Singh. "This year, one artist will perform each day," added Singh.
